The longer I'm on a Paleo Ketogenic “keto” diet, the more I'm realizing that I personally need to eat at least 75-80% fat a day to feel ‘optimal'. This takes some adjusting if you're not used to it! So I thought I'd share my personal favorite fatty breakfast, which is 75% fat, delicious and helps keep me going throughout the day. My brain LOVES it when I eat this.
I'm always looking for interesting things to eat that fit within a Paleo Keto diet. Well this is one of those VERY interesting recipes, and I have a treat for you… I have a video of this sushi being made, along with the recipe!
I'm always looking for more recipes that uses grass-fed ground beef, and this is a good one! You wouldn't think that hamburger would make a good low carb fried “rice”, but the meat lends well to the flavors of garlic, ginger and fermented soy. This is a filling and satisfying fall meal.
I had the pleasure of being interviewed last week for the HealthNuts podcast by Caitlin Weeks and Mary Vance, about my ebook “Kick the Weight with Keto“. It was a great experience and Mary/Caitlin were great interviewers and I felt super comfortable, just like having coffee and discussion with friends!
I didn't even know what a Hail Merry tart was until I was researching a dairy free dessert to make for my daughter, who cannot tolerate gluten, dairy or eggs. Apparently these tarts are sold in stores in individual servings, but are sweetened with honey. Well I also wanted to be able to eat this dessert along with my daughter, so here is a version that is paleo, keto, vegan, low carb, gluten free, dairy free, egg free, contains no soy and most important of all, is completely delicious!
Well you know me, I just can't leave well enough alone when it comes to low carb keto pizza! So yes I had to come up with yet ANOTHER recipe variation for my favorite food on earth. For all of my pizza related recipes, please see the low carb pizza summary post.
This chili really hits the spot on those cold rainy days! I like to serve this topped with cheese, raw onion and sour cream and alongside some low carb (gluten free / paleo / keto) “corn” bread. This recipe is suitable for even a weeknight as it can be ready to eat in about 45 minutes (including prep time).
How can one go wrong with deep fried cheese wrapped in bacon? Read on for a gluten free, primal, low carb and keto version of the classic mozzarella sticks…
You're going to LOVE this snack, and it's low carb too (and very filling)!
I toasted these coconut flakes with some real vanilla and a touch of low carb sweetener, and now have a wonderful snack that will satisfy your sweet tooth, give you some fiber and some good fats, all-in-one little package! They make a great topping for plain yogurt too, and a good addition to any paleo “cereal” mix you like.
This “corn” bread has no corn, but is still amazingly good alongside chili or soup (and it's yellow)! And at only .6 net carbs per serving (that is a POINT 6, less than 1 gram!) it won't have a large impact to your carb count for the day. The green onions provides a great flavor and some moisture, but chives would also be good!
