Hi There

I’m kind of stuck and would like to know if your book covers this problem. I’m a type 2 and can’t seem get into ketosis even with low low carb, 80% fat, exercise and metformin. My fasting blood sugar is just too high, I think. (Post postprandial is fine thanks to my diet.) I’ve heard of this problem elsewhere, and that my situation needs a special approach, but I don’t know what that is. No doctors anywhere near me are low carb or ketogenic proponents…any help in your book?

Hi Barbra, I do think the book would help, although it doesn’t go through your exact situation. You’ll want to use the keto calculator to really dial in your macro levels. It could possibly be that you’re not eating enough protein in the morning, too much at night, or too much protein overall. How long have you been eating 80% fat?

One last question, how do you know that you’re not in ketosis? Are you using ketostix or blood ketone testing? I’ve noticed that the ketostix are not as accurate for those with diabetes. Maybe because there’s not as many ketones spilling into the urine. Thanks for your questions as I think it’s good to learn from different situations! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m hesitant to do this with all the health issues I am having. Will research this more but am afraid of my low blood sugar issues, seizure disorder, high blood pressure, etc. Have lost 60 lbs on healthy eating and 1200 calories but can’t seem to get motivated to finish the job. (20 more lbs) Currently I am almost doing this without counting carbs and protein (which I don’t eat much of – if anything, I probably need more) I need to know how to use this guide and how to find it on my computer since I have downloaded it. Where do you find it on a Mac?
